Purpose and Mission Statement
The Ashland University Testing Center provides examinations and resources to students, faculty, staff and the community to support their academic goals and professional advancement.

About the Testing Center
- Facilitates placement testing, make-up examinations and other testing services as requested by faculty, students and the community.
- Supports student success by connecting students to resources that help optimize test preparation.
- Makes national, professional and certification exams available to the campus and the community as a Pearson Vue Testing Center.
- Provides a knowledgeable, courteous and professional testing environment and staff.

We are located in the building next to Burger King, on the lower level.
Accessible PearsonVUE testing is available upstairs in the Student Accessibility Center with prior arrangements.
Hours
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Additional hours are added during peak times. If you are an AU student with testing needs outside of regular hours, please contact Sam Coon at scoon@regaloteas.com for accommodations.
Pearson VUE testing is available on Thursdays from 9-3 barring University closures. CLEP testing is available by appointment.
AU Student & Faculty Services

At the request of faculty, students who miss an exam may take a make-up test in the testing center. To schedule your make-up or retake exam:
- Log in to Soar Network and schedule your exam by selecting an existing appointment session. If you are scheduling a make-up test, please be sure to include the name of the course and professor in the comments.
You will receive your appointment information in a Soar Network email notification.
Taking the Accuplacer test helps colleges assess student readiness for introductory credit-bearing courses and make reliable placement decisions.
- Your first attempt is free of charge. Additional attempts cost $25, which can be paid at the testing center.
- Students in 100% online degree programs can complete the Accuplacer assessment remotely. Please inquire for more information.

Although AU is test optional for most majors, colleges use ACT scores for admissions and merit-based scholarships.
ACT On Campus testing at Ashland University is intended for students who have applied for admission and/or accepted students. There is a $70 non-transferable/non-refundable fee for this test. Students who do not have an application on file will not be scheduled to test.
Note: Scores from this testing are reported to Ashland University ONLY. No score reports from ACT will be sent to the student or high school. The ACT On Campus score reports will not be issued to any other institution or agency.
Student & Community Resources
A $25 proctoring fee will be paid directly to Ashland University by cash, check, or credit card on your exam day. The Certiport proctoring fee is waived for Ashland University students. The CLEP and DSST proctoring fees are waived for veterans & active military. Proctoring can be scheduled by calling or emailing the testing center.
Pearson Vue Testing
Pearson VUE is a global testing and assessment services provider that offers a wide range of exams for various industries and professions. The exams are typically computer-based and are administered at Pearson VUE test centers located worldwide.
Candidates should schedule their Pearson Vue exam online; limited exams offer in-person scheduling.
Certiport Testing
Certiport is a provider of certification exams and practice test solutions, particularly in the field of information technology (IT) and digital skills. Certiport exams are commonly associated with industry-recognized certifications that can enhance an individual's skills and employability. Proctoring can be scheduled by calling or emailing the testing center.
CLEP® Testing
The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. Exams cost only $93 plus the testing center's proctoring fee, compared to hundreds of dollars per course credit at a college. Proctoring can be scheduled by calling or emailing the testing center.
DSST Testing
The nationally recognized DSST Credit-by-Exam Program gives students the opportunity to get college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional classroom. All DSST Exams are $100 – payable to DSST by credit card only and due at the time of testing. Proctoring can be scheduled by calling or emailing the testing center.
